Steel series have been on a roll really, pumping out a bunch of solid mouse, keyboards and headsets that have all done rather well critically and commercially. The Rival series of mouse in particular has got a lot of fans.Steel series have upped their game with a total of eight points of customization, with the two thick strips atop the mouse each getting three zones to play with via the Steel series Engine software. With this you can create some nice color blends or just slap the whole thing onto cycle mode so that it becomes a rainbow of color that is sure to attract any nearby unicorns looking for a mate. The colors are vibrant and deep, though the system still has the typical RGB LED weakness when it comes to displaying yellow and white, which come out looking slightly green and slightly blue respectively. That brings use to the overall looks and for the most part I like it. The amount of lighting is perhaps too strong for many people, but you can disable each lighting section individually in order to tone it down if you want something a tad more subtle. It has a nice sleek aesthetic free of absurd angles or pointless tat. It’s finished with a black paint job that shows up marks, so if you’re a bit obsessive about keeping your stuff looking clean this mouse might just drive you crazy. As for the build quality it hits the mark, too. There’s no sense of flimsy plastic or creaking when you grip it hard, and even when you give it a little shake there isn’t that slight rattling sound typically heard in a mouse. I’ve really got no complaints about hows it built and how it looks.

For some people a stack of colossal speakers and an amplifier the size of Wales is not a viable option, and we shall pity those people because they will never know the joys of listening to there game . For those people a good headset is a worthy investment because they can really increase the quality of your gaming. But how Logitech may have taken things slightly too far by slapping on LED lights on their newest headset. So yes, they have the capacity to blind people, but do they sound good. The level of comfort and build quality manage to impress almost across the board, Logitech are pleasingly comfy set of cans that seem quite sturdy, although I’m yet to take a hammer to them in order to test this. The headset sports a relatively clean, black look with a few molded lines that break up the flow and a chunky design philosophy when it comes to the earcups, which look a bit like they’re actually some form of breaching charge intended for blasting through human skulls. It all feels solid in the hands aside from a small tendency to creak a little when being moved around, the entire unit feeling all the stronger for its relatively hefty weight of. The half-inch wide padding on the earcups is made of a sports mesh material with memory foam that is just a tiny bit itchy and warm for my own tastes but is otherwise extremely comfortable for those long sessions into the early morning hours. Seriously, I had them on while binging on a mixture of Star Wars: The Clone Wars,GTA,call of duty modern warfare,ad battlefront. The only flaw was having to take them off every now and then for a bit of a cooldown. The same padding runs along the headband and provides ample support. In a lovely touch the right earcup panel can be removed to reveal a small compartment to store the USB dongle needed for wireless, while both earcups can be swiveled to lie flat on the shoulders with almost no restriction on head movement.
